Sant Tukharam Abhang "Sunder Te Dhyaan"

"Sunder Te Dhyaan" Abhang composed by Sant Tukharam
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

In this abhang Tukharam visualizes and meditaes on the image of Lord Krishna (Vitthala) standing on a brick with his hands on the hip, wearing a tulasi garland around his neck, crocodile shaped ear rings, the pearl Kausthubha adorning a neclace on his neck and a yellow garment (Pithamabaram) on his waist showing the enthusiasm and waiting to serve his devotees.

The brick was given by Pundalika. The crocodile ear ring is symbolic of the crocodile was was killed wth Sudharshan Chakra to save Gajendra, the elephant.

What Tukharam implies that devotees should not be lost and feel helpless in a sea of desires but be detached from worldly pleasures, wealth and power.
